About

About Cambridge Tree Removal

A direct booking line for one vetted, insured tree service working across Cambridge and the nearby townships.

Cambridge Tree Removal is a booking line and nothing more: there is no crew behind this name, and the site does not pretend otherwise. It exists because a Cambridge owner with a willow over the roof or a permit question about a healthy maple should be able to reach one vetted, insured tree service that knows the City's by-law, rather than hand their number to several lead forms and spend a fortnight sorting the calls.

The job itself is done by a tree service carrying its own liability insurance and WSIB coverage, which inspects the tree before quoting, prepares the arborist report and application the Private Tree Preservation By-law requires, and answers for the work afterwards. Your details stay with that one contractor; they are not resold, circulated or auctioned.

The site is straight about the rules because getting them wrong is expensive. Cambridge's by-law requires a permit for any private tree of 20 cm or more; dead trees, hazards and emergencies have their own routes through the City; boulevard trees belong to the City and are not touched; river valley lots are checked against the GRCA's regulated area; woodlands of a hectare or more fall under the Region's by-law; and ash wood stays inside the CFIA regulated area. The City's fees quoted on our cost page are the City's published figures as of 2026, and where a rule is the City's, the Region's or the GRCA's to confirm, this site says so rather than inventing an answer.

Some jobs are turned down. Cutting a protected tree without the permit, topping a healthy tree, removing a boundary tree without the neighbour's consent, grinding a stump out of a regulated riverbank without the GRCA's say-so, and splitting a ten-tree clearance into permits to avoid the site alteration process are all better declined than started.

How this works

Your call to 289-672-2902, or your form, goes to the tree service that covers Cambridge and to nobody else; no list, no call centre. Because the crew spends most of the working day in a tree, calls usually reach voicemail, and the recording and your number are forwarded to them by text and email within moments. You hear back the same working day or the next; if a tree is on a structure or a line, say so and it moves to the front. Then comes the site visit, since in Cambridge a tree quote has to answer more than how the tree comes down: it settles which route through By-law 23-105 applies and what the City will charge, the method and the access, the lines, whose tree it is, whether the GRCA has a say, where the wood goes and whether the stump is included. The written quote follows from that.

What we won't do

  • Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
  • Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
  • Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
